The Oakland Raiders were back on the practice field Wednesday in preparation for the New York Jets Sunday. Strong safety Tyvon Branch was back at practice for the first time since injuring his leg in week two. Running back Darren McFadden was not able to go, suffering from an ankle.
The running back group is in shambles with McFadden a non-participant, Rashad Jennings coming off a concussion, and Jeremy Stewart not practicing. Jennings has cleared some of the NFL concussion protocol and was practicing today. He will have to continue his progress before he can play Sunday, but it is a good sign he was a go today. Because of the circumstances, former running back turned cornerback Taiwan Jones took reps at the position.
Branch returns after missing the last 10 games. He will have to show he is healthy enough to play this week before a decision is made. The Raiders will continue to evaluate him.
Wide receiver Denarius Moore was sidelined today with his shoulder injury along with safety Usama Young and guard Mike Brisiel. Cornerback Mike Jenkins, who is battling a concussion was able to go.
