The Oakland Raiders offense will be without their leading receiver Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Denarius Moore has missed practice all week with a shoulder injury suffered last week and is ruled out. Andre Holmes, who was limited in Friday's practice, is probable for the game and will fill in for Moore.
With Raiders' starting quarterback Matt McGloin making his second career start, the loss of Moore will be a factor. Moore leads the Raiders in catches with 37, yards with 569 and touchdowns with five. In McGloin's only start this season, Moore caught two passes for 11 yards and a touchdown.
Holmes moves into the starting spot for Moore against the Titans, making what will be his first career start. He made a terrific leaping catch for 33 yards against the Houston Texans last week, but that is his only grab this year. He was suspended the first four games of the season and has been working his way back. He is a big body at 6-4, 210 pounds and uses that size well.
Oakland also will rely more on wide receiver Rod Streater and tight end Mychal Rivera. They have been the other two best receiving options outside of Moore. Streater has only two fewer receptions than Moore with 35 for 507 yards and two scores. Rivera has 23 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Second year man Juron Criner is questionable for the game with a shoulder. Jacoby Ford has done next to nothing this year for Oakland and rookie Brice Butler has nine catches rounding out the weapons McGloin will count on Sunday. Expect running back Rashad Jennings to get a heavy workload.
Other Raiders who will miss the Tennessee game are running back Darren McFadden, defensive end Jason Hunter, and strong safety Tyvon Branch. Defensive tackle Dan Muir, quarterback Terrelle Pryor, and linebacker Kaluka Maiava, are questionable. Guard Mike Brisiel and tackle Matt McCants are probable.
