The Oakland Raiders have released their depth chart for the upcoming preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys. It is just the initial point where the team is now, but there are some interesting notes.

At the quarterback position, Matt Flynn and Terrelle Pryor have solidified themselves at the top to no surprise. However, rookie Tyler Wilson is listed behind undrafted rookie Matt McGloin. Wilson has struggled in training camp at times and was surpassed by McGloin for the third quarterback spot. Both players will get a chance to show their development against the Cowboys and that will determine the order going forward.

Richard Gordon is listed as the starter at tight end. He leads David Ausberry and rookie Mychal Rivera in the early competition. Tight end will be a hotly contested position going forward with Ausberry and Rivera showing their receiving prowess and Gordon the solid, steady blocking option. It will be very interesting to see how offensive coordinator Greg Olson uses the tight ends in the preseason opener.

On the offensive line, Lucas Nix is listed as the starter ahead of Tony Bergstrom. Menelik Watson, who has yet to participate in training camp, is second at right tackle.

Highly touted rookie Latavius Murray is listed fourth on the running back depth chart behind starter Darren McFadden, back-up Rashad Jennings and third stringer Jeremy Stewart. He should get an opportunity to see some action Friday and move up the chart.

The defensive chart is really what was expected with no major surprises. On special teams, punter Chris Kluwe is ahead of Marquette King. This is by no means set in stone. As the preseason progresses, the depth chart will change. However, right now this is how the coaching staff feels about the roster and position battles.
